Atlas Structural Design

Atlas Structural Systems was my first job after graduating engineering. I designed roof trusses and floor systems for residential and commercial projects across Atlantic Canada using MiTek software.

My work covered the full design loop: interpreting architectural drawings, working with the client to understand what they wanted and clear up any potential issues, laying out the truss and floor systems, running stress analysis on headers and jacks to accommodate openings in building structures, and producing client-ready shop drawings and quotes.

The role sharpened my ability to read and interpret technical drawings quickly, reason about load paths intuitively, and turn around accurate designs under tight deadlines. The designs were company property that I cannot disclose, so the ones shown here are from public sources, but show the exact type of designs I would work on.
